The overnight session initially delivered a sharp downside flush, with ES futures extending losses by as much as 1.5% and fulfilling the DTS downside objective at 7530 with remarkable precision. Mission accomplished.
Then came the plot twist.
As Regular Trading Hours approached, price found sponsorship at the D-Level and began a steady reversal campaign. The bears briefly celebrated. The bulls quietly loaded inventory.
By mid-morning the market had:
✅ Closed the RTH Gap
✅ Fulfilled the highly probable 3-Day Cycle objective (92.79%)
✅ Reclaimed key lost territory from Cycle Day 2
✅ Triggered upside targets at 7560, 7575, and 7585
✅ Ultimately fulfilled the 7610 GEX objective
BOOOOM.
What began as a bearish continuation attempt evolved into a textbook Outside-In playbook session. Sellers pressed early weakness, buyers absorbed inventory, and the tape steadily migrated higher throughout the day.
Perhaps the most telling feature of today’s auction?
Everyone wanted a pullback.
And when everyone wants a pullback…
The market often refuses to provide one.
The afternoon session became a slow-motion squeeze as dip buyers remained dutifully active while short sellers searched desperately for a meaningful retracement that never materialized.
By the closing bell:
🎯 3-Day Cycle targets fulfilled
🎯 7610 GEX target fulfilled
🎯 Yesterday’s lost range effectively reclaimed
🎯 $1 Billion MOC Buy Imbalance supported the close
The market’s message was clear:
The Cycle Day 2 warning signal produced consolidation, not capitulation.
Now attention shifts to Friday’s Jobs Report. With the market having successfully repaired much of yesterday’s damage, traders will be watching closely to see whether economic data becomes the catalyst for fresh all-time highs—or the excuse for another round of profit-taking.
