Prior Session was Cycle Day 2: Markets conformed to CD2 rhythms early as price oscillated back n forth in a relatively narrow range. PTGDavid also opined to one of our member inquiry regarding the CD1/CD2 “holiday blend”. Quote: “Technically tomorrow is Cd2…BUT may still act like a CD1…” Sellers eventually took control and forced a sell-down to 5525, which was PTG’s CD1 projected low target outlined in DTS Briefing 6/19/24. Essentially, both CD1 and CD2 range targets were fulfilled. Range for ES was 62 handles on 1.408M contracts exchanged.
…Transition from Cycle Day 2 to Cycle Day 3
This leads us into Cycle Day 3: Price is trading below CD1 Low (5560) and historical odds (92.50%) favor trading above this level during CD3 RTH Session. Wild-Card today is Triple OPEX which should be today’s main-driver of price action. Our discipline of maintaining positioning that is aligned with market forces continues to serve us well, so stay the course.
As such, scenarios to consider for today’s trading.
Bull Scenario: Price sustains a bid above 5550, initially targets 5565 – 5570 zone.
Bear Scenario: Price sustains an offer below 5550, initially targets 5530 – 5525 zone.
