The S&P 500 Index has a fighting chance to avoid recording its fifth straight decline as global markets shake off Turkish currency jitters. In Asia, the Nikkei carved out a 1.2% gain after a lower yen set the stage for buying action. The Shanghai Composite in China finished the day 0.1% higher and South Korea’s Kospi index edged up 0.2%. Australia’s ASX 200, Taiwan’s Taiex and New Zealand’s NZX-50 were all in positive territory as well, while Hong Kong’s Hang Seng shed 0.4%. It’s a positive session at midday in Europe as well, with the Stoxx 600 up 0.3%. Germany’s DAX is 0.5% higher to lead the way, while U.K.’s FTSE is up 0.3%. Dow futures point 0.3% higher and S&P 500 futures are up 0.5%

Today is Cycle Day 3 (CD3)…Price successfully tested CD1 Low (2826) in prior session as normal CD2 unfolded. Overnight rally has price approaching 3 Day Central Pivot Zone (2840.25 – 2842.75) for a test of the upside range parameters. Conversion of the upper limit would be bullish signal, while a failure keeps price range-bound.

CD3 Range High = 2848.50          CD3 Range Low = 2813.50          CD3 Range Avg = 25.25 

Scenario 1: IF price holds bid above 2826.25, THEN upside targets 2836 – 2841.50 zone.

Scenario 2: IF price holds offer below 2826.25, THEN downside targets 2808 – 2805 zone.

Overnight rally has price approaching 3 Day Central Pivot Zone (7443.00 – 7461.25) for a test of the upside range parameters. Conversion of the upper limit would be bullish signal, while a failure keeps price range-bound.

Scenario 1: IF price holds bid above 7418.50, THEN upside targets 7450 – 7460 zone.

Scenario 2: IF price holds offer below 7418.50, THEN downside targets 7369.25 – 7351.00 zone.
