CYCLE DAY 3 — WILD CARD GONE WILD 🚀
Well…
That escalated quickly.
Monday began innocently enough as a Cycle Day 3 Wild Card.
By the afternoon, the Bulls had apparently misplaced the brake pedal, Mutual Funds discovered several billion dollars stuffed between the couch cushions, and ES had morphed into a full-blown:
🚀 SUPER CYCLE
So much for a quiet Monday.
🌙 OVERNIGHT — MISSION ALREADY ACCOMPLISHED
Before RTH even opened, the Daily Trade Strategy Briefing had already done its job.
🎯 7765 Downside Target — FULFILLED
🎯 7795 Upside Target — FULFILLED
Both sides of the projected range had been tagged.
Since this was Cycle Day 3 and the primary Cycle objectives had already been satisfied, we labeled the session exactly what it deserved:
WILD CARD
Translation:
The market had already eaten dinner.
Anything else was dessert.
Apparently ES ordered the entire dessert cart.
🔔 OPENING BELL — RELEASE THE HOUNDS
The opening bell rang and buyers wasted approximately zero time demonstrating their intentions.
Early enthusiasm pushed ES back toward the upper objectives, and by 10:07 AM:
🎯 7795 — FULFILLED
Again.
Because apparently once wasn’t enough.
Next up:
🎯 7805–7810 Target Zone — FULFILLED
At this point, anyone repeatedly shorting the market because:
“It can’t possibly keep going higher…”
was beginning the traditional Wall Street ritual known as:
Updating the stop.
Price wasn’t merely poking above resistance.
It was accepting higher prices.
Big difference.
And when price accepts higher value during Cycle Day 3…
You don’t stand in front of the freight train because your RSI has developed a nosebleed.
🧠 TODAY’S SECRET TRADING INDICATOR:
STAY ALIGNED
One of Monday’s most important discussions had nothing to do with finding another indicator to bolt onto the Christmas tree.
RSI?
CCI?
MACD?
Stochastics?
EMA?
Sure.
They’re tools.
But none of them come with a tiny man inside the monitor screaming:
“BUY HERE, DAVID!”
Trading remains an exercise in probabilities, not certainty.
As Jimbo reminded the room:
“If you are looking for certainty in trading, don’t. There isn’t any.”
Bingo.
Yet traders spend enormous amounts of time searching for the mythical indicator that will eliminate uncertainty.
Good luck with that.
It’s probably located next to the Holy Grail, Bigfoot and the trader who has never moved a stop.
Our job remains:
ALIGNMENT → ASSIGNMENT → ATTACK
And if the trade size is causing anxiety?
Here’s a revolutionary institutional risk-management concept:
TRADE SMALLER.
You’re welcome.
🚀 AFTERNOON — SOMEBODY FED THE BULLS ESPRESSO
After lunch, ES continued grinding higher.
Then at approximately 2:35 PM:
🎯 7831 CD3 RANGE OBJECTIVE — FULFILLED
That alone would have made for a respectable Cycle Day 3.
But ES apparently hadn’t received the memo that the mission was complete.
The current Three-Day Cycle rally had expanded approximately:
162 HANDLES
Ladies and gentlemen…
We officially graduated from:
Cycle Day 3
to:
🚀 SUPER CYCLE STATUS
What started as a Wild Card became the market equivalent of:
“Hold my beer.”
📐 REMEMBER THAT EXPECTED-RANGE DISCUSSION?
Earlier in the session we spent considerable time discussing expected range calculations.
Because education is wonderful.
Education that gets demonstrated by the market two hours later is even better.
The important 75% Expected Range Level sat near:
7820
Once ES cleared and accepted above 7820, the level effectively converted into:
SUPPORT ON THE BACKTEST
Resistance becomes support.
Not particularly sexy.
Not particularly complicated.
Just useful.
Hope everyone was taking notes.
LOL.
Because the next stop was sitting right there:
🎯 10-DAY ATR / 100% RANGE TARGET
7839.70
And at approximately 3:04 PM…
💥 BOOM.
7839.70 — FULFILLED
100% Expected Range.
Delivered.
Signed.
Receipt attached.
🟢 A4 LONG — DON’T STRANGLE THE RUNNER
Meanwhile, the A4 Long provided another lesson in letting the market do the heavy lifting.
Runner held from:
7806.75
Rather than deciding:
“Gee, this seems pretty high…”
the runner was allowed to RUN.
Novel concept.
As ES continued chewing through targets, the trailing mechanism simply followed price higher.
Eventually around 3:34 PM:
A4 Runner — Trailed Out
No crystal ball required.
No heroic top-calling.
No chanting Fibonacci numbers while burning incense.
Just:
Enter.
Define risk.
Manage.
Trail.
Get paid if the market cooperates.
Funny how boring trading can become when you remove the unnecessary drama.
🏦 MUTUAL FUND MONDAY
Then came another familiar character:
MUTUAL FUND MONDAY
Funds can delay deploying capital.
They can work their orders.
They can wait for pullbacks.
They can stare thoughtfully at their Bloomberg terminals.
Eventually…
THE MONEY HAS TO GO TO WORK.
And when enough institutions simultaneously decide they’ve waited long enough?
The market doesn’t gently drift higher.
It starts vacuuming offers.
Which is approximately when traders sitting stubbornly short begin saying:
“This market is manipulated.”
Of course it is.
Welcome to Tuesday.
🥊 BOND VIGILANTES VS. SUPER INTELLIGENCE
Meanwhile, the U.S. 10-Year Treasury Yield was screaming higher into extreme long-term territory.
The Bond Vigilantes arrived wearing leather jackets.
They cracked their knuckles.
They stared menacingly at equities.
ES looked over and basically said:
“That’s adorable.”
Then rallied anyway.
The market apparently decided the Super-Intelligence / AI narrative was bigger and badder than the Bond Vigilantes.
Macro opinions are wonderful cocktail-party conversation.
Price pays the bills.
TRADE THE MARKET YOU HAVE.
Not the one your economic thesis insists should exist.
💣 3:50 PM — SURPRISE!
Then came:
MOC SELL IMBALANCE — $3.8 BILLION
But here’s the important part.
By then:
7831?
✅ DONE.
7839.70?
✅ DONE.
100% Expected Range?
✅ DONE.
162-handle Three-Day rally?
✅ DONE.
Super Cycle?
✅ DONE.
The market had already delivered the goods.
And once the major range objectives had been fulfilled…
THEY PULLED THE RUG ON THE LATECOMERS.
Ah yes.
The Latecomers.
Those brave souls who watched ES rally all day, resisted every good entry and finally concluded near the 100% Range Target:
“NOW I feel comfortable buying.”
Wall Street thanks you for your liquidity.
🔴 DLMB SHORT — TIGHTEN THE BELT LOOP
Once the upside range objectives had been completed, the DLMB Short ultimately played out.
Was it easy?
Of course not.
That would ruin the entertainment.
The market made shorts tighten the belt loop before finally rolling over.
But once the upside auction had exhausted its projected objectives, the character changed.
That’s why we don’t short simply because:
“It’s gone too far.”
And we don’t buy simply because:
“It’s going to the moon.”
We wait for:
LOCATION
STRUCTURE
TRIGGER
RISK
Then attack.
Everything else is just financial karaoke.
🏁 MONDAY SCORECARD
🎯 7765 DTS Downside Target — FULFILLED
🎯 7795 DTS Upside Target — FULFILLED
🎯 7805–7810 Target Zone — FULFILLED
🎯 7820 75% Range Level — CLEARED & CONVERTED
🎯 7831 CD3 Range Objective — FULFILLED
🎯 7839.70 100% Range Target — FULFILLED
🚀 Three-Day Cycle Rally — ~162 HANDLES
🚀 SUPER CYCLE STATUS — ACHIEVED
🟢 A4 Runner from 7806.75 — TRAILED OUT
🔴 DLMB Short — ULTIMATELY PLAYED OUT
💰 MOC — $3.8 BILLION SELL IMBALANCE
Not bad for a session we started by calling a:
“Wild Card.”
Wild Card?
More like somebody handed the Bulls the keys to the Ferrari and forgot to mention the speed limit.
🧠 PTG TAKEAWAY
Monday provided another beautiful example of why we trade PRICE, not opinions.
The Cycle objectives were fulfilled early.
That didn’t mean:
SHORT IT!
It meant the statistical mission had been completed and anything beyond it required reading the developing auction.
Price cleared 7795.
Then 7810.
Then 7820.
Then 7831.
Then finally:
7839.70 — 100% EXPECTED RANGE.
At every stage the market provided information.
Your job wasn’t to predict it.
Your job was to listen.
So remember:
ALIGNMENT → ASSIGNMENT → ATTACK
Respect the levels.
Respect the range.
Respect the trend.
Manage the $RISK.
Take the Triple-A setups.
And please…
When ES has already rallied 160+ handles and fulfilled the 100% Expected Range Target…
DON’T BE THE GUY WHO FINALLY DECIDES:
“I THINK I’LL BUY IT HERE.” 😂
Because the market always needs somebody to hold the bag while everyone else heads for the parking lot.
