🌄 The Morning Setup

Hope Springs Eternal…For About Three Hours

Welcome back traders and faders.

November kicked off with the usual mix of optimism, caffeine, and selective memory regarding what happened on FRYday.

Overnight buyers staged a respectable Wyckoff Automatic Rally, lifting price squarely into David’s projected upside target zone of 7645-7655. After Friday’s shellacking, market participants were eager to believe the worst was behind them.

Unfortunately, the market had other plans.

Cycle Day 2 was expected to provide stabilization and consolidation. Translation:

“Everybody calm down and stop hitting the panic button.”

The overnight sandbox was clearly established between 7625 and 7660, giving traders a well-defined arena in which to either execute their plan or creatively invent new ways to violate it.

Meanwhile, before anyone could trade, Daylight Savings Time claimed its first victim.

John B spent part of the morning troubleshooting his platform, internet connection, and probably a few nearby electrical outlets before discovering the market hadn’t opened yet.

The room unanimously agreed:

First trade of the day: Long clock. Short confusion.

📈 Opening Drive

Repair Crew on Duty

As cash markets opened, buyers immediately got to work repairing Friday’s damage.

The market checked several boxes early:

✅ Automatic Rally

✅ Friday RTH Range Repaired

✅ Gap Repair Attempt

✅ Strong Morning Momentum

By 10:00 AM price had reached the third upper target zone around 7665, where it promptly experienced what technicians refer to as:

“Running head-first into reality.”

David noted the rejection as price began struggling to maintain upward momentum.

Still, hope remained alive.

Perhaps a little too alive.

🤔 Trader Psychology Corner

Few comments captured the emotional struggle better than Savann:

“Heart wants to chase, mind wants a pullback here…”

Every trader immediately nodded.

The market’s favorite game is convincing you to buy exactly where patience would have paid better.

Moments later came perhaps the quote of the day:

“We need to be Vulcan then not human.”

Indeed.

The market rewards logic.

The market monetizes emotion.

The market sends invoices immediately.

☕ Midday Market

The Chopening

Around late morning the market entered what veteran traders call:

The Chop Zone.

Price stalled.

Momentum faded.

Range contraction appeared.

Coffee consumption increased.

Ram provided one of the day’s most valuable observations:

“After a big move learned to be more patient.”

An expensive lesson usually purchased after several years of unnecessary trading.

The room spent part of lunchtime discussing:

  • Gamma levels
  • Liquidity
  • Election impacts
  • Aircraft weather incidents
  • Rush concerts
  • Trading indicators

In other words:

A normal PTG Monday.

Throughout the noise, David continued emphasizing one simple concept:

“Just stay aligned…”

Not flashy.

Not exciting.

Just profitable.

🎯 Setup of the Day

The A4 Short Appears

At 11:11 AM David posted:

“A4 short 3 TP’s stop trail @ even”

The beauty of the call wasn’t just the entry.

It was the management.

Three targets.

Risk reduced.

Runner left working.

No prediction required.

No heroic forecasting.

Just execution.

While many traders were still wondering whether the market might bounce, the roadmap was already unfolding.

🔪 The Trap Door Opens

As the afternoon progressed the market slowly stopped acting like a recovery day.

Then openly admitted it wasn’t.

Then completely abandoned the disguise.

The morning rally began deteriorating.

Price rotated lower.

The 7625 Line-In-The-Sand came back into focus.

At 2:20 PM David warned:

“Price below prior close 7614 opens the trap door for potentially lower.”

Five words traders should always respect:

Potentially lower became definitely lower.

📉 The Afternoon Unraveling

DTS Targets Continue Their Winning Streak

The selling accelerated.

The downside roadmap from the Daily Trade Strategy Briefing began lighting up like a Christmas tree.

First:

🎯 7595 Target Achieved

Then sellers kept pressing.

Buyers tried defending.

Sellers laughed.

By late afternoon the market was conducting a thorough inspection of lower prices.

💥 The Money Shot

Then came the headline moment.

At 3:43 PM:

“Booom 7575 target fulfilled per DTS Briefing… TYVM!”

A textbook objective reached.

A full-session reversal completed.

The morning optimism had officially entered the witness protection program.

🥊 Bulls vs Reality

Morning Bulls:

“We’ve repaired Friday’s range!”

Afternoon Market:

“That’s adorable.”

By the closing hour sellers owned the tape.

David summarized the situation with remarkable restraint:

“Closing in the lower quartile of the range… Not a good outing for the bulls…”

Not a good outing?

The bulls spent the day climbing a mountain only to discover it was actually a trap door.

📊 Room Awards

🏆 Trade of the Day

A4 Short

  • Three profit targets achieved
  • Runner management emphasized
  • Alignment with developing weakness
  • Letting the market do the heavy lifting

🎤 Quote of the Day

“We need to be Vulcan then not human.”

A philosophy worthy of framing above every trading screen.

⏰ Most Unexpected Obstacle

Daylight Savings Time.

Still undefeated.

🎸 Best Non-Trading Contribution

Bruce’s Rush concert review.

Market analysis may be temporary.

Rush is forever.

🔭 Looking Ahead

The key technical takeaway heading into Cycle Day 3:

Critical Reference

Cycle Day 1 Low: 7558.25

Holding above this level preserves the possibility of stabilization.

Failure to hold opens the door to further downside exploration.

As if traders needed another reminder, the session closed with one final headline:

NASDAQ 100 officially entered correction territory, down 10% from its October record high.

Suddenly Friday’s liquidation doesn’t seem quite so dramatic.

It may have simply been the market giving advance notice.

🎬 Final Thoughts

Monday began as a story of recovery.

It ended as a reminder that markets don’t care about anyone’s narrative.

The opening rally repaired the damage.

The afternoon auction created new damage.

Those who remained aligned with the roadmap and respected the evolving weakness were rewarded.

Those who spent the day arguing with price received a complimentary education.

As always, the market remains the world’s most efficient distributor of humility.
